2015-2016 CAASPP Testing Information for Grades 3-5

Screen Shot 2016-03-06 at 9.28.52 AM.pngThe California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP, which has replaced the Standardized Testing and Reporting, or STAR Program, is the new state academic testing program.  CAASPP includes computer adaptive tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics as well as paper-based tests in science.  More information can be found on AUSD's website here.  Parent Exemption letter can be found here.

To learn more about the types of questions on the computer-based test, you and your child can view the practice test online at the California Department of Education (CDE) Smarter Balance Practice Web page here.

AUSD’s  "Common Core Assessments" web page offers a wealth of information on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), also known as the "Common Core Test" or "Smarter, Balanced Test." We need YOU!  If you want to volunteer, we could use your help, whether you can help 1 day a week, 5 days or any number in between.  We're always looking for volunteers to help in classrooms, as Art Docents, making copies and helping at lunch.  Please see Principal Lewis or email her at tllewis@alameda.k12.ca.us if you need more information or have questions!

Haight Named A Top Bay Area School for Underserved Students

Haight was recognized as of the top 54 Bay Area schools for Underserved Students for our African American students' performance on the English portion of the 1415 CAASPP.  Congratulations to families and teachers for their support of high student performance!

Did you know that each family that qualifies for free or reduced lunch brings $600 per child to our school?  Not sure if you qualify?  Apply to find out!  Click here to go to the application. Stop in the office if you need any assistance to apply. Qualifying gives you access to many benefits:
